Dreamweaver Vista Install Problems

Posted on June 20th, 2007 in Windows Vista by Terp

Recently i was trying to install Dreamweaver CS3 on my laptop and the installer crashes on startup, is there a fix? ofcause..

 On Windows Vista x86:

Choose Start > All Programs > Accessories.
Right-click the Command icon, choose Run As Administrator, and authenticate.

Navigate to Windows\System32.

At the prompt, type regsvr32 jscript.dll and press Enter.

When a dialog box with the message “DllRegisterServer in jscript.dll succeeded” appears, click OK.

On Windows Vista x64:

Choose Start > All Programs > Accessories.
Right-click the Command icon, choose Run As Administrator, and authenticate.

Navigate to Windows\SysWow64.

At the prompt, type regsvr32 jscript.dll and
press Enter.

When a dialog box with the message “DllRegisterServer in jscript.dll succeeded” appears, click OK.

I recently discovered this problem on my parrents computer, i was doing a fresh install of windows due to a harddrive loss

after researchin om tha web and i still coundt find a decent solution i notised the cpu fan wasnt running?!
i replaced it and havnt seen the error since :)

and what can we conclude? 0×0000009c is caused by over heating of the cpu

Windows Defender: 0×80240029

I got this error someday, and the problem is it cant update.

but ofcause there is a way to fix this.
The first thing i would try is running Windows Defender in administration mode (Right click on shortcut and “run as administrator”) and try to update again
-this didt work for me but worth a try

the secound thing you can try is actualy found on the MS website, and is quite simple and this DID work for me:

1. Start the computer in safe mode. To do this, follow these steps:
a. Restart the computer.
b. Press the F8 key as the computer restarts.

Note You have to press the F8 key before the Windows Vista progress indicator appears.
c. When the Advanced Boot Options menu appears, use the arrow keys to select the Safe Mode option, and then press ENTER.

2. Rename the SoftwareDistribution folder. To do this, follow these steps:
a. Click Start, type %windir% in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.

Note In this step, %windir% represents the path of the Windows system folder. Typically, C:\Windows is the path of the Windows system folder.
b. Locate the SoftwareDistribution folder.
c. Right-click the SoftwareDistribution folder, and then click Rename.
d. Type SoftwareDistribution.old, and then press ENTER.

3. Restart the computer

If this STILL dosnt work, try as the last thing:

1. Uninstall Windows Defender
2. Restart in safe mode with internet
3. Go to www.sh123.notlong.com
4. There you will be prompted to download a zip file; run it now in safe
mode
5. It will open the DOS window and will take some time to run; the window
will
close itself when it is finished; do not close it. This re-registers
all dll files.
6. Restart
7. Reinstall Defender and check for updates
